Sequencher is accelerated for the Power Macintosh but runs on 68K Macs as well. For most universal use the demo version is not accelerated for the Power Mac. Except for the most demanding tasks such as contig assembly of a large project, you won't notice a difference in speed, as even in 68K emulation the speed is impressive. Sequencher and OS XVersion 4.2 and above of Sequencher run natively under OS X. Sequencher runs under Tiger (OSX 10.4 but if you upgrade to Tiger you might need to reinstall Sequencher for it to run properly. Note: Apple has reported significant problems with Version 10.1 of OSX and recommends upgrading. Gene Codes does not support 10.1. For more details on the OSX version, see the Release Notes (Version 4.5) (pdf file: 331 kb). WindowsSequencher for Windows PC is now available. Note that the price is approximately 42% higher than the Mac version due to third-party royalty payments. Minimum requirements as of Sequencher for PC/Windows version 4.0.5 are:
Dongles & PortsSequencher is sold with a hardware key ("dongle"), which must be attached to a port on your computer for the program to function in other than demo mode. For Stand-Alone versions, the dongle must be on the computer being used. For Network versions, it is on one computer on your network. Since the dongle is required, your computer must have the appropriate port to fit the dongle:
